Happy New Year to one and all
HAGGIS,HAGGIS & YET MORE HAGGIS
Having just recovered from a very busy Christmas and New Year period we find ourselves straight into the chaos of the haggis season. With Rabbie Burns birthday only a few weeks away the orders are pouring in. If you are thinking of holding your owns Burns Supper this year be sure to order one of our Traditional Gold Taste Award Winning Haggis. Our haggis is available in 500g, 1kg and 2kg sizes and a 1.3kg stick. All you need to add are the 'neeps', 'tatties', 'a wee dram' and a few good friends and of course some of Rabbie's fine words. The celebration of Robert Burns birthday takes place on Wednesday 25th January.

BBC GOOD FOOD SHOW BIRMINGHAM

We have just returned, excited but very weary from another successful fivedays exhibiting at the BBC Good Food Show Birmingham. As part of the Scotland Food and Drink stand we sampled and sold our Award Winning bacon, black pudding, haggis and lorne sausage. The response to our products was once again overwhelming as you can see fromn the picture and it was great to meet customers who have been shopping online with us since last years show.
I appeared on stage at the Christmas Tasting Theatre every morning with chef and food writer Jane Hornby. I gave a presentation on the history of the family business and our produce. Jane cooked two delicious dishes using our products, Bacon Wrapped Chicken with Haggis and Chestnut Stuffing, Creamed Sprouts, Cranberry and Red Wine Sauce and a Salad of Black Puddding and Scallops with Crisp Bacon, Apples and Hazelnuts. Both recipes feature on our recipe page. I got the job as Jane's Commis Chef which I found a touch nerve wracking to start with but as the days went on I began to enjoy my new role, however, I think I will stick to bacon curing.
To everybody who visited our stand and sampled or purchased our products, a great big thank you. I hope that we can be of service to you in the future
Q GUILD SMITHFIELD AWARDS
Just got back from the Q Guild Butcher's Lunch which took place in the beautiful Butcher's Hall near Smithfield, London. The lunch is the awards ceremony for Q Guild's annual product awards. Celebrity Chef Ainsley Harriott was there to present the awards. Once again we managed to achieve a selection of Gold and Silver Awards for our products.
The Q in the Q Guild stands for Quality and we have been a Q butcher for almost 25 years. Each year we have to go through a rigorous inspection to make sure that we are achieving the high standards required to be part of this elite group of butcher's.
