BBC GOOD FOOD SHOW

BBC Good Food Show Our recent few days at the BBC Good Food Show in Glasgow proved to be a massive success, we sampled and sold vast amounts of black pudding, bacon, sausage and haggis.

The celebrity chefs were out in force, James Martin and the Hairy Bikers wowed the crowd and tantalised the visitors taste-buds in the Cookery Supertheatre. James Martin used our beef fillet in his demonstration, he showed the crowd how to dress  and how  to cook a full Ramsay's beef fillet. James proceeded to sear the piece of fillet, season it and wrap it in cling film, he then cooked it in a low oven (yes, still in the cling film), 65-70C for 45 minutes. The beef fillet when removed from the cling film was cooked to perfection, (no resting required) and exactly the way we like it,medium rare. James also says that you can leave the beef fillet in the oven for up to 4 hours at this temperature and it won't cook any more than this. Andrew had the privilege of being allowed back stage to meet James and to taste the fillet, he says it was melt in the mouth delicious. Our female team at the show were very upset about this and I don't think it was because of the tasting, the good looking James may have been the reason.

The Hairy Bikers cook Ramsay's Black Pudding We were lucky enough to attend the Hairy Bikers demonstration in the Supertheatre and it was truly fabulous, it was a laugh a minute, they certainly know how to entertain and their cooking ain't half bad either. They requested Ramsay's Award Winning Black Pudding for their starter. Dave cooked it with caramelised apples rings, scallops and all brought together with a champagne sauce, it looked truly delicious, although Dave was so busy chatting that he managed to over caramelise some of his apple rings ie: burn, much to the crowds delight and his annoyance.

Thanks to their demo and their endorsement of our black pudding we actually ran out of black pudding on the Sunday!
